ACHAIA - DEVELOPMENT AGENCY S.A. contributed to developing the long-term vision for the EU's rural areas

On 30 June 2021, the European Commission presented the Long-Term Vision for the EU Rural Areas, which defines the challenges and concerns faced and highlights some of the most promising opportunities offered to these areas. This communication came after an exploratory and extensive consultation with citizens and other stakeholders in rural areas.

The Communication sets out a long-term vision for the EU's rural areas by 2040. It identifies areas for action for stronger, more connected, resilient, and prosperous rural areas and communities.

ACHAIA - DEVELOPMENT AGENCY SA actively participated in the consultation of the National Rural Network in the focus area 2 - Achaia (recession area). Also, on the initiative of ACHAIA - DEVELOPMENT AGENCY SA and with the support of National Rural Network (NRN) organized an equivalent workshop for the region (Achaia), the results of which were included in the official announcement of the EU, moreover the Agency also participated in a relevant event through the NRN’s Virtual Stall (Marketplace), where the actions carried out for the Long-term vision were presented by relevant digital information material (photos, videos, and presentations).
